Tanjung Puting National Park is a national park that is located on a peninsula southwest province of Central Kalimantan. Tanjung Puting is initially a nature reserve and wildlife sanctuary established by the Government of the Dutch East Indies in 1937. Furthermore, by decree of the Minister of Forestry No. 687 / Kpts-II / 1996 dated October 25, 1996, designated as the Tanjung Puting National Park with a total area of 415,040 ha. Geographically, this national park is located between 2 ° 35′-3 ° 20 ‘ latitude and 111 ° 50’-112 ° 15 ‘ BT covers the sub Kumai in Kotawaringin West and sub-districts Hanau and Hilir Seruyan in Seruyan. Tanjung Puting National Park is managed by the Center for Tanjung Puting National Park, one of the Technical Implementation Unit (UPT) of the Directorate General of Forest Protection and Nature Conservation (PHKA) of the Ministry of Forestry.
