Kalimantan, East Java and Yogyakarta 12 Days 11 Nights

Day 01   Airport Balikpapan – Loajanan – Mahakam River (D)
Upon arrival at Sepinggan International Airport of Balikpapan then meeting service and transfer by airconditioned car/minibus/bus for two hours driving to Loajanan for boarding the house boat for exciting Mahakam river tours. Stop will be made to see the papper plantations at Loajanan. Meals will be served on houseboat and stay overnight on boat.

Day 02  Muara Muntai – Mancong – Muara Ohong – Jantur Fisherman – Mahakam River (B,L,D)
After breakfast on boat stop at Muara Muntai for observing the way of the people life at wooden village then continue the trip by motorized canoe over Jempang Lake and passing Jantur Fisherman village, stop can be made to visit Jantur village. Than passing the Ohong river village with beautiful views along the river for reaching Mancong. On arrival welcome ceremony will be performed by Dayak Banuaq tribe in front of their long house and return to the house boat cruise down for Tenggarong. Lunch box will be provided during the canoe trip, dinner and stay overnight on boat.

Day 03  Lekak Kidau – Tenggarong – Loajanan – Balikpapan (B,L,D)
Breakfast on boat then visiting Lekak Kidau village, the Kenyah Dayak tribe from the hinterland to re-settlement at this area. Than cruise down river for 4 hours to Tenggarong, upon arrival visiting the museum of Kutai Kertanegara as remain of Sultan Palace, you may see the anchient collections such as chairs, hairlomb, neclase, statue of hindu with Sansekrite language, royal tomb, ceramics from old dinasty such as Ming, Ching, etc. Afterward return to the boat and down the river for Loajanan, then after lunch, proceed to Balikpapan for your dinner and hotel accomodation.


Breakfast at hotel, than at 09.30am visiting Kebun Sayur shopping archade where you may see and shop alot kind of stone such as Ruby, Safir, Diamond, Gold, Ametis, Kecubung, etc. Afterward transfer to Airport for flying out to Surabaya.
Upon arrival at Juanda Airport of Surabaya, meet & greet and transfer to local restaurant for dinner and then to hotel for check-in.


After breakfast at hotel, check-out and start Surabaya City Tour visiting : Tanjung Perak harbour & Kalimas traditional port, House of Sampoerna museum, Jembatan Merah monument, China Town, Ampel (Arab quarter), KRI Pasopati (Sub Marine Monument), Mirota handycraft center.
Surabaya is the second biggest city in Indonesia after Jakarta, well known as Heroes City. A tall and proud memorial monument stands in the centre of the main city to commemorate the heroes who fought and died in the independence war on the 10th of November 1945. Surabaya is the center of government and business activities in the eastern part of Indonesia, and also the Naval Base of Indonesia.
Upon completion of the tour we continue to drive 3hrs to Cemorolawang village on the crater edge of Tengger ancient caldera overlooking the famous Mt Bromo.

At 0330 early in the morning you’ll be waken up and the Jeep will bring you to the one of the world’s most famous view point at Mt Penanjakan on the rim of the Tengger caldera to enjoy the sunrise (if we’re lucky) with its young volcanic including Mt Bromo and an active Mt Semeru in the background.
Afterward the adventure continue to an active Mt. Bromo volcano to climb up 245 step of stairs (Horse ride is optional). Then the Jeep will bring you back to hotel for breakfast and short break.
Midday we will start our village tour. Here we will observe the Tengger peoples and cultures which significantly different than what is Javanese in general. We also will have opportunities to join them in their farm and also try to buy their fresh vegetables products from local market. Upon completion return back to hotel.

After breakfast we check-out and leave Mt Bromo to Surabaya where we will take an executive, comfortable and air-conditioned train to Yogyakarta.
Upon arrival at Yogyakarta airport or train station. We will pick you up and introduce Yogyakarta to you. We will show you a little bit around in Yogyakarta for your first glance of the town.


After breakfast at hotel, then  the tour will start by visiting the Sultan’s Palace which is supposed structurally as the finest examples of Javanese palace architecture, providing series of luxurious halls, spacious courtyards and pavilions.
After having had lunch, we proceed to Kota Gede. The town has been the centre of Yogya’s silver industry. Besides that this area is quite old. This town was the first capital of the ancient Mataram Kingdom

Today we explore the Dieng plateau and its area which takes around 3-4 hours from Yogyakarta. The temples in this place are set in a strange but beautiful landscape within the huge, mashing calderas of a volcano. From Dieng the trip goes back to Yogyakarta. But on the way we will be exploring the magnificence of Borobudur temple. This huge temple was built with some 60.000 cubic meters of stones, around the 8th century, and it is supposed to be one of the greatest Buddhist relics of South East Asia. The temple is closely related to two other small and nearby temples, namely Pawon and Mendut temple, that you will visit as well.

After breakfast we will visiting the Hindu temples, called the Prambanan. Exploring the beauty of it and following the Ramayana story carved on the wall is an advantage. The complex gives the wealth of sculptural detail on the great Shiva Temples makes it the most outstanding example of Hindus art.
In the late afternoon, we also will return back to Prambanan Temple. Only this time we will not exploring the temple but to enjoy the open air Ramayana Ballet Performance.
