Bolihutuo Beach


In most part of part of Bolihutuo beach grows giant pines tree, it has created the cool and calm atmosphere around the beach. White sand that spreads around the beach has made the beauty of the beach more complete. There are also available some cottages.

If at some time you come in Gorontalo, there is no harm in visiting the beach which is located in the District Bolihutuo Boalemo, approximately 120 km to the west of Gorontalo city. However Bolihutuo suitable as a place to cool off from the hustle and bustle of all sorts of urban bustle. Boalemo city located approximately 100 km from Gorontalo, taken by private vehicle or use public transport with a fare of Rp 15,000 per person. The city is located on the edge of the lane Trans Sulawesi.

Bolihutuo Beach, known also as Indah Boalemo Beach is one optional destination to spend your weekend. This beach is located in Bolihutuo village, Botumoito sub-district, Boalemo district, Sulawesi Utara Province. It’s 130 km away from Gorontalo City. From Gorontalo City, you can use your private car or public transportation here.

The beauty of Bolihutuo Beach is like pearl carpet on Tomini Bay coastal area. White sand combined with chasing waves looks like they’re whitening the blue sea. This view will surely fondle your eyes to enjoy this beach even more. There are shady high pine trees you can find on the edge of the beach which will make the atmosphere even milder.

There are rented boats for you to go around the beach. Include water-bicycle, speedboats, diving equipment’s and some other facilities for tourists to rent in Bolihutuo Beach. There are also grottos and gazebos for you to take a rest and relaxed for a while. Other facilities you can find in the beach are restaurants, cottages and information centre. Pantai Bolihutuo is an ideal beach for family weekend holidays. The smooth white sand is perfect for sand castles and other sand play. Of course after having soaked up a fair bit of Bolihutuo sun, a refreshing dip in the ocean will be just what you need. Along the beach there are water sports facilities and equipment for rent such as jet-skis, motor boats, and diving and snorkeling equipment. There are also cottages, a restaurant, as well as the Tourism Information Center. If you would like to take some time out of the sun there are also a number of shade stalls and gazebos to rest at along the beach.

In addition to relaxing on the beach and marine exploration at Pantai Bolihutuo, another nearby place to visit would be the Lamu Village in the Tila Matu District. This is a place where small, white-sanded islands lie scattered in the middle of the sea. Other islands worth a visit are Pulau Lahumbo and Pulau Paniki. On both these islands there are groups of thousands of bats that make the islands appear black when viewed from the sky. Another no less interesting place to visit is Pulau Bitila  Marine Park on the border betweem the Boalemo district and Pohuwato district. This is located about a 15 minute drive from Pantai Bolihutuo. Taman Laut Pulau Bitila offers wonderful unexplored underwater life.

Another interesting excursion is to the Ayuhulalo Waterfall located in the Ayuhulalo village in the Tilamuta district. This region lies 200 meters above sea level and is about 5 km. from the Boalemo District, with a travel time of about 15 minutes by public or private car. The Ayuhulalo Waterfall is not very large in size, but it has a very calm, peaceful, back-to-nature atmosphere. Here visitors can spend time enjoying the beauty of a natural waterfall, and not have to think about the price for going to an expensive location. The combination of this secluded waterfall, located among pretty, green hills, and the pounding waters, makes it a perfect location for a relaxing weekend getaway in itself. It is most suitable for family recreation. Not far from Pantai Balihutuo, about 3km before Boalemo town, there are several accommodation places to choose from. There is the Pratama Hotel, simple, clean and adequate, which charges Rp. 25,000 per person, with some rooms having air-conditioning. Then there is the Indraloka Hotel which has approximately 20 rooms available at Rp 25,000 per person as well.
